i realize it's been practically silent on this blog for a while, but it's for good reason! i've been working hard on a new project with the help of that handy, photographer husband of mine. i've been putting my love for crafts and handmade things to use to create a new site called a girl who makes.



this blog will remain, but will become more of a personal blog where i will document the my life's happenings. the new blog will become a showcase for all things crafty and DIY, so follow me there and thanks for your continued support!!

our wedding movie

we hired the incredibly talented, passionate and kind, mike varel to document our wedding day and what he created for us is nothing but phenomenal. he filmed us a few weeks before the wedding as we worked like mad on the details. having that footage is so special, because i can feel the excitement and anticipation in both of us leading up to the wedding day. i love the songs mike chose. they fit us so well and the audio he paired with the footage just amazes me. mike has some sheer talent and we feel so blessed to have had him alongside us on our wedding day. mike, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating the most incredible film. we love it now and it will be a cherished piece in the story we are writing together.

hairdo.

a few weeks ago kansas city kindly welcomed their very own kate spade store and i was lucky enough to attend this fun event! co-hosted by mimi + meg, the party was of course, full of adorable things! eric shot the party and got some fun images you can see here and here. i bought some cute tights and a gift for a friend and oohed over each cheeky piece in the store. i'm adding things to my wishlist left and right i tell ya.

i decided to do something different with my hair and i wore a bun on the very tip top of my head.

as the weather cools down i'm beginning to crave chunky sweaters. i found these at zara.

cold fronts are coming and baby needs boots. i can't decide which ones to take a chance on. can someone please help me narrow it down to the pair destined for my closet???

a love for vintage.

this website called fab.com has daily design deals for people. all you have to do it sign up to become a member and you can be in on the deals too!! lots of fun eye candy to enjoy. today? vintage typewriters. be still my heart!!



available in an array of color combinations, it's like my dream come true!! though let's be honest, these typewriters aren't seeming like so much of a deal when the cost a few benjamins at the minamum. sometimes i use my blog to design my dream life.

alt. summit

do you know what alt summit is? i've heard it be described as a summer camp for bloggers, so it sounds pretty awesome if you ask me. one exception...the girl that practically becomes paralyzed in temperatures below sixty degrees will be traveling to salt lake city, utah in JANUARY!!! but, going to alt. summit is an opportunity i couldn't pass up!! tons upon tons of great bloggers and business people will be there to inspire, encourage and help the attendees figure out what they want their blog to be and be about. i'm excited to hang out with a bunch of like-minded people to share ideas and dream up new ideas!

and i get to go along with tobe and morgan & carrie!!! i feel like i'm living in a dream and can hardly wait for out trip!!! now it's time to dig through my closet to find the warmest clothes possible. yikes!

pinterest

you might be asking where i've been for the last few weeks...probably one of three things: working, sleeping, biking. yup! eric and i both have road bikes and we've been putting them to use. it's so much fun!!

in the meantime, i've joined pinterest and i love it!! it's great for keeping my ideas organized. many friends told me it would be a total time consumer, but i just jump on, pin a few things, and then continue on with my day. i can understand how easily you can get sucked into looking at such fun projects and beautiful photos.
